The Rope Pattern dates to around 1900. Each piece is hand cast in brass and finished using the same techniques of over a century ago. The doorknobs are 2 1/4 inches in diameter and the back plates measure 2 1/2 x 9 1/4 inches. Available in polished brass, unlacquered brass that will acquire an antique patina over time and hand rubbed antique brass.

These sets are available in 5 functions: passage for non-locking doors used with tube latch; privacy for locking doors used with a privacy tube latch; keyed sets used with a keyed mortise lock; privacy with turn key used with a privacy mortise lock; and dummy sets that are used as non-working handles.

Polished brass rope pocket door pull. The Rope Pattern dates to around 1900. In Charleston, merchants who owned large tall masted ships for overseas trading marked their front doors with rope moulding. I was a way to attract sailors who were often illiterate who wanted employment. It later came to be a sign of great wealth. Our sets are made of solid cast brass and are finished by hand using the same techniques of over a century ago. Each handle measures 6 X 2 5/8 inches and recesses 3/8 inch. Three finishes are available: polished lacquered brass, antique brass and unlacquered brass. 2 5/8 x 6 inches. Only keyed handles are available. sold by the pair

The original doorbell dates to around 1900. The dome unscrews to reveal a hidden mounting plate. This doorbell button is easily installed. Attach the two wires from the house onto the two screws on the back of the button. No electrician is needed. The bell has a black button. 2 1/4 inch diameter. Three finishes are available: polished lacquered brass, antique brass and unlacquered brass.

Solid cast brass with a strong spring. This letter slot is large enough to accomodate magazines. Cast in solid brass and finished by hand using the same techniques of over a century ago, this Rope Pattern entry door set was copied from an original antique. The exterior back plate is bored to accept a modern deadbolt. The interior back plate includes a turn key. The back plates measure 3 x 11 inches and the doorknobs measure 2 1/4 inches. The set includes a pair of back plates, a pair of doorknobs, split spindle and is available in polished lacquered brass (maintenance will be required), unlacquered brass that may be polished or allowed to acquire a warm patina, and hand rubbed antique brass. We searched for the best entry lock and configured this set to work with a Baldwin mortise lock #6375 and Baldwin cylinder. (sold separately) Dummy sets also available.
